Joanne from Kids Days Out Reviews, Tami from MummyofTwo, and Steph from Miss Mamos World  are teaming up with lots of local clubs to get the baton from Hull to the team in Bradford. Hull Team Honk is a real community effort.

Sunday 2nd March

The baton is flying in from Sheffield at lunchtime and being taken via cycle to the Humber Bridge, where there will be roller derby with Hulls Angels Roller Dames. It will involve some pushing and shoving, and a lot of rock and roll. Then we’re taking the baton via cycle to the KC Stadium, home of the mighty Hull City and Hull FC, where at around 4pm, we are re-enacting the baton relay in miniature with the help of some sports mascots from Hull City, Hull KR, and Hull Stingrays.

Today The baton is being taken from the KC Stadium, via a pram push on Hessle Road – headed up by Tami dressed as Orville the Duck, and Steph, and accompanied by Jess, a mascot dog from local charity Pet Respect – and on to North Ferriby by the Sunday Girls Road Cycling Club from Hull. At lunchtime, they are passing the baton to Joanne, and Stuart of Hull Cycle Couriers who are cycling 30 miles on the Trans Pennine Trail to the North Yorkshire market town of Selby.

Selby ladies cycling group Frillies on Wheels are working with a local school on activities, and then they are cycling the 25 miles to the North Yorkshire village of Bardsey, where they are passing the baton to the village school for fun and games.

And finally, a big HONK for making the papers! Take a look here.
