Project Spotlight: Heart of Kent Hospice

This week we’re  highlighting some of the projects that are supported by Comic Relief, here in the UK.

People with dementia and their carers benefit from direct support. This project supports patients of hospices in West Kent who have dementia, as well as supporting their carers through a weekly Dementia Café. The project also focuses on awareness and education, providing training and supporting reference materials to health care professionals and carers. It aims to improve the quality of care for people with dementia, as well as making things easier for their families, carers, and the health professionals that look after them.

We are an independent charity providing specialist end of life care for people facing the challenge of a life-limiting illness, and support for their families. Our catchment area includes Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling and the surrounding villages.

We care for nearly 1,000 patients and their families each year in their own homes, in the community or in the Hospice, improving their quality of life and helping to make every day precious.
